The Church is called the People of God. It is more than just a building, but rather, a gathering of baptized men, women and children who have chosen Jesus Christ and a way of life that reflects the Good News of His teaching.

This website has been designed to make you aware of the ministries and organizations of many wonderful people in the Ascension Parish Family who believe Jesus is first in their lives. These good people make faith and love real in the life of the parish.

I invite and encourage you to read and reflect on the good works reflected in the pages that follow.  God is calling you to make a commitment to Jesus by becoming an active participant in the ministry and organization of your choice. Our parish family needs YOU!

Again, welcome to our parish. May God bless you.

Sincerely in Christ,
Rev. David W. Milliken

Advent offers us many opportunities to help us to welcome Christ everyday into our lives. As we welcome and care for one another in many small ways, we will find that Jesus truly becomes flesh in our daily lives. These are just some of the ways that we can journey together on our ADVENTURE at Ascension.

This calendar offers each of us many opportunities to help us respond to Saint Paul's Advent challenge: "We must learn to make still greater progress" in our relationship with God. (1 Thes. 3: 12-4:2)

Once again, we invite you to Share in the Spirit of Christmas by participating in our parish’s traditional Giving Tree program. As you know, we service many organizations including a local nursing home, the county homeless shelter, a residence for homeless teenaged boys, as well as families in need in New Milford and neighboring communities.

The 2015 Sharing God's Blessings Appeal has begun. Each year, the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal provides valuable resources to parishes and schools in need, helps the poor with food, shelter and clothing, supports many pastoral ministries.  This year’s Appeal, Sharing God’s Blessings is a perfect opportunity for us to reflect on God’s generosity to us and to share the blessings we have been given with those around us. This year, our parish goal is as follows: Parish Goal 2015: $53,403.00
